Seismic Challenge

Event Overview

The course of Seismic Challenge 4.0 will follow the San Andreas Fault from Fort Bragg, CA to the Russian River. Cyclists will be riding almost entirely on the beautiful Northern California coastline for 100 miles. With approximately 2 turns, it doesn't get less complicated!

We decided to make a weekend out of it, so transportation up to Fort Bragg takes place on Saturday morning, October 1st. Buses will take cyclists north to Willits, CA where they will hop on the historic Skunk Train. (Bikes will be transported directly to Fort Bragg) Our generous partners at The Skunk Train have donated the use of their locomotive, to give cyclists a unique start to the weekend with a journey through the coastal redwoods to Fort Bragg. The train has multiple cars, including a "bar car" and an open-air car to fully enjoy the sights. Lunch will also be provided on the train.

Once in Fort Bragg, Cyclists will be dropped off at the designated event hotels. Cyclists are required to secure their own hotel accomodations - Click here for a list of Fort Bragg hotels offering discounts. Many local restaurants will be providing discounts for event participants at various locations around town, in order to get some pre-ride carbo loading.

On Sunday, October 2nd, Cyclists will be shuttled to the start line at the Skunk Train Depot in downtown Fort Bragg where the fun begins at sunrise! A 100-mile journey down the coast to the finish line at the Russian River. Transportation will be provided from the finish line back to San Francisco. Of course, feel free to stay the night along the Russian River, but make sure you plan for transportation home.

The Reward

Accepting this challenge to put your endurance and dedication to the test can be a life-changing opportunity for both you, the participant, and also for the lives of thousands of individuals benefiting from the programs and services of San Francisco AIDS Foundation. The goal of the Seismic Challenge is to provide our participants with a unique journey of wellness and transformation. Upon reaching your fundraising goals and completing this 100-mile endeavor, we hope that you will find a sense of inward and outward achievement along with the comfort of belonging to a community of greater good. Most importantly, San Francisco AIDS Foundation will put your crucial fundraising dollars to work preventing new HIV infections and promoting health among those living with HIV.
