WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR THE >1 RUN CLUB?
The registration fee for Runners is $35 for the yearly membership. Membership dues received after November 1st will apply to the remainder of the year as well as the next calendar year.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY MEMBERSHIP FEE?
Runners participating in the >1 Run club receive:
- Weekend group runs hosted by Training Run Leaders
- Periodic weekday evening runs
- >1 Run Club Membership Card
- Quarterly clinics on topics such as nutrition, injury prevention, stretching, etc.
- Access to discounts at >1 Partners
- Invitations to >1 Socials and Events
- Great incentives for those choosing to fundraise for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation
- Personal Fundraising Page on >1 website
- Access to fundraising tools and templates on the >1 website
- Participant Representative available for guidance on fundraising and the running program
- Access to Marathon and Half Marathon training plan and group training runs
WHERE DO THE GROUP RUNS TAKE PLACE?
The group runs will take place in San Francisco each weekend at various locations. The group runs will all be posted on the >1 Event Calendar along with locations, routes and mileage.
WHO LEADS THE GROUP RUNS?
The group runs are all lead by >1 Training Run Leaders. These TRL's will review the route, answer questions, and welcome any guests to the run.
HOW DO I BECOME A TRAINING RUN LEADER?

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ALL THE RUNNING GEAR I NEED?
If you do not currently have running shoes or proper running attire, we encourage you to visit one of our >1 Partners that can help you select the right shoes for your needs. Visit the >1 Partners section of our website for detailed information and discounts.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE >1 RUN CLUB?
Yes. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON THE GROUP RUNS?
You should plan on bringing your own hydration and any other nutritional needs that you prefer.
HOW LONG IS A MARATHON AND A HALF MARATHON?
The Marathon is 26.2 miles and the Half Marathon is 13.1 miles long.
DO I NEED TO REGISTER ON MY OWN FOR EVENTS THAT I AM PARTICIPATING IN?
Yes. Each member is responsible for registering for events on their own. >1 may be able to secure some spots for events that sell out but event registration is not guaranteed.
ARE THERE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ?
Yes! We're always looking for volunteers to help out various >1 events. You can sign up to volunteer online.
DO I HAVE TO FUNDRAISE AS A MEMBER OF THE >1 RUN CLUB?
No. Fundraising is optional for all >1 Run Club Members. A personal fundraising page is automatically created for each member upon registration. Of course, we encourage all members to create a fundraising goal associated with the event of their choice. It can be a 5K, marathon, cumulative mileage for the year, or any other running event of your choice.
WHAT WILL THE FUNDS RAISED BE USED FOR?
The funds will be used to support the programs and services of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and our mission to prevent new infections and promote health among people living with HIV. You can learn more about the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by visiting our website at http://www.sfaf.org/.
HOW WILL I RAISE FUNDS IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL?
Your >1 Participant Center will have a number of tools for you to use in your fundraising efforts. You'll have access to email templates that you can customize with your personal message and send to potential donors. You will also be able to create a personalized participant homepage that will allow you to track your donations online. Your assigned Participant Representative will also provide you with assistance in the area of fundraising and share ideas and tips on how to reach your goal.

Yes! Runners who decide to fundraise will earn the following incentives:

$1000 = >1 Running Hat
$1500 = >1 Messenger Bag
$2000 = >1 Run Jersey
$3000 = >1 Sweatshirt
$4000 = >1 Gear Bag

HOW DO I BUILD A HOMEPAGE TO HELP ME FUNDRAISE?
Go to your Participant Center and follow the easy instructions. You can upload a picture, send emails and create a personal message. Your friends and family can also donate to your account through your homepage.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PERSONAL FUNDRAISING GOAL?
Once you login to the Participant Center, go to the "modify your personal fundraising goal" button. Enter your new goal and submit the change by selecting the "update fundraising goal" button.
