The Big Gay Route
The route of The Big Gay 10K begins and ends at the "Great Gay Meadow" at upper Fort Mason in San Francisco. It is an out and back course that runs entirely along San Francisco Bay with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.The turnaround takes place at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. There will be a lane closure on Marina Blvd. for the first mile of the course and the remainder of the event will be run on paths.

PLEASE NOTE: The vendor’s equipment for “real time” tracking was unavailable for Big Gay 10K results for 2012. Therefore, this year’s results are “gun start time”. Gun time, like in drag racing, shows your race time from the gun start. If it took you two minutes to cross the start line, that would be included in your finish time. Feel free to make up your own time…we’ll never tell!

We'll be back in 2013 with an even bigger and gayer 10K! Thanks to the hundreds of princesses, runaway brides, superheros, unicorns, and other folks that took part in this year's event and raised so much money for the services of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
Fundraising is Encouraged
Each runner in The Big Gay 10K receives their own personal fundraising page on the >1 website. Fundraising is optional for all runners but we encourage creating a fundraising goal to help support the crucial work of San Francisco AIDS Foundation. We provide the online tools and support to help each participant reach their fundraising goals.
Runners will receive the following incentives for their fundraising achievements:
$500:
Reach the $500 level to be entered into the Big Gay Raffle Package. Every $50 in donations after the $500 level will earn you another entry into this awesome prize!
Top Fundraiser Award: The top fundraiser as of 9:00 AM on the day of the event will be awarded a special prize during the post run awards ceremony.
The Big Gay Costume Contest

Feel like putting on your most ridiculous costume for the run? Then break out the glue gun and prepare to be judged! Not only could you win some serious Big Gay bragging rights but, if you have the best, you will receive a $500 gift certificate to Sports Basement!
The Big Gay After Party
Lookout
Once you cross the finish line, continue the fun at Lookout for the official after party of The Big Gay 10K. Drink and food specials will also be available for participants thanks to our friends at Lookout. (3600 16th St & Market St., San Francisco)
